Newly elevated partners are often undeserved in their integration into the partnership, leaving some struggling to fully adopt the "partner mindset" and build their new brand internally. Carrying over a peer orientation with their teams confuses relationships, generates uncertainty, and undermines their effectiveness. We'll offer specific approaches to help cultivate a mindset shift in new partners that grounds them in their expanded role as project head, standard bearer, and leader who drives business and sets culture, identify warning signs that they are still operating with an outdated handbook, and suggest tools to move them from individual contributor to accountable leader.
