This week’s recommendation: become indispensable – both to more senior associates and partners as well as administrative professionals who may staff the various client matters on which you work. Know the case/transaction details better than anyone else. Be extremely detailed oriented and organized; and always convey a cheerful willingness to help. Make sure there are no mistakes in anyone’s work and demonstrate an interest in understanding the client’s perspective. Go the extra mile, stay the extra hour, make yourself available and visible.
