As we approach the end of the first quarter of 2015, now is a great time to stop and assess your professional development and status, regardless of your profession. Where do you see yourself in one year? Five years? What do you need to accomplish to achieve your goals?
Organize yourself and formulate a plan: Ask yourself, what do you want to accomplish this year? Which skills should you develop? Improve? Determine what experience(s) are critical to driving your career to the next level. Which relationships need to be cultivated?
As you begin this process and identify areas for focus, set goals that are clear, measurable, realistic, and relevant. Importantly, focus on those, which can be executed within a certain period of time. Studies show that people who create attainable goals are more likely to realize them. Be sure to write down your goals and timeline; put dates on the calendar, set reminders and periodically review your progress.
